Is this just a yt-dlp_x86.exe refresh to latest version at time of new build and a minor version bump to differentiate it or is there some actual coding revamp in the GUI?
These are only just a relatively newer version of yt-dlp_x86 that you can do for yourself from an admin command prompt opened in the install folder:
yt-dlp_x86 -U
and it will update the the very latest version from the projects github releases repository. Often you will get an update for yt-dlp_x86.exe even after installing the latest giveaway update!

What other video downloaders can’t download, Allavasoft can download without any problems 🙂
allavsoft uses SAME 3rd party downloader module as most other video downloaders so it has the similar abilities. Some other video downloaders allow you to pick from the offered files and download the specific dimensions not just the best normal or lowest on each download. The ONLY near unique thing about this downloader is the screen capture utility bundled to record a playing video it cannot download but it can only record audio from defined input devices and if you don’t have a system mixer INPUT you cannot record the playing sound. It’s a compromise. There are better streaming media recorders too. e.g. CleverGet One annoying thing about Allavsoft is they don’t publish a version history and it is rare one gets the precise version number of a giveaway to know if it is a step up or not on what we already have… e.g. is the new version involving any program change other than version number and the yt-dlp.exe is the only thing that has been updated to counteract the countermeasures youtube had applied to try and prevent the theft of their content.
