Don’t forget that on ANY windows system with system restore / System Protection is enabled on the drive you are wanting to erase securely you CANNOT DO IT as each write saves a copy of the previous data to the Volume Shadowcopy Store database and can be recovered in entirety via system restore or by VSS browsers or in parts by deep scan file recovery programs. The solution… disable System Restore/Protection on the drives that contain sensitive data that needs to be securely erased or never putting data that would need to be securely erased/encrypted etc onto your PC.
