Just another Chinese illegal closed source user interface pirating a GPLv3 or undistributeable build of FFMPEG to do the actual conversion. I prefer to give my patronage to LEGAL user interfaces that correctly attribute the FFMPEG project and abide by their license terms like xmedia recode or handbrake. I certainly would NEVER PAY Chinese software pirates for their illegal GUIs.
Actually this is worse than the usual IP thieves!
They use a hacked set of FFMPEG DLLs to remove all signs of the FFMPEG license and copyright to aid their brazen theft of FFMPEG.ORG Intellectual Property. I prefer to give space and my patronage to legal usage of FFMPEG and not brazen thieves like these. They even try to launch the installed main executable as an admin task before the installer completes and BEFORE you are given an option to run the program or not. The installer uses a hacked Inno installer compiler to hide what they are attempting to do upon installation including this dangerous covert rights elevated execution of the main program. The installer is remarkably DUMB in that it allowed the installation of the program under a 32bit Vista system! It should have detected it was a 32bit operating system and blocked installation. It should have detected it was a Vista system and blocked installation but it did not it blindly went on and installed it and attempted to launch the 64bit main program covertly which produced a big error window exposing their suspicious activity. I am NOT installing this on a system that permits their potentially malicious activities to execute even if it’s just harvesting system details and reporting them home… why should we trust or systems and data to such brazen Intellectual property thieves? I wont! I don’t advise you to either!
